How to Let Go of Past Hurt

Picture Article 5.png

Everyone in life gets hurt, sometimes we are even devastated by the words or actions of other people.

Many, many times, I have lived situations where I had given and done so much for someone and afterwards I was deeply disappointed.

Throughout the years, after having lived many difficult situations, after having learned so much from great teachers and mentors, I taught myself how to stay outside the hurt from someone else.

When we give freely to someone, whether it is our love, whether it is our time, whether it is our attention, it is all about giving without expectations. We share our love and our light.

When the other person doesn't return that love and attention, or even treats us in a hurtful way, always remember, it has nothing to do with you.

The words and actions of that person only reflects the inner state of that person. So don't take it personally, it has nothing to do with you.

When the other person doesn't return your love and attention, or treats you in a hurtful way, it is wiser to take distance so that your inner Love and Light will not be dimmed by that person. You can still be compassionate for that person from a distance.

Respect yourself enough and set your boundaries so that no one gets comfortable with disrespecting you.

Remember that you are Love and Light, always return to that Love and Light, and never give anyone the power to dim that Light, never let any bad person take away your goodness.

From childhood on, I decided to stay pure in my heart, whatever came on my path, it was not going to poison me.

I never allowed that. I still give freely and love generously but surround myself with people who uplift, support and cherish me, as I do with them.

So I invite you to do the same, choose loving friends, stay away from toxic people (you don't owe them anything), and know that you deserve all the best life has to give.

Know that the Divine always wants the best for you, even if it doesn't always seem that way, in hindsight you will see that much of your challenges were blessings in disguise.

May you be guided by kindness always,
Barbara
