5 Ways To Live An Abundant Life

What if we lived as if there was enough?

Enough time.

Enough money.

Enough opportunity.

Enough potential.

Enough stuff.

Enough energy.

Enough healing.

Enough creativity.

Enough space.

What if we started living from our abundance, instead of our lack? Many people dream of living an abundant life but fail to take actions that would lead to it. A lot of people want a lot of money, but keep spending on unnecessary things. Other people would like to have an abundant business but are afraid to keep showing up in the market. Many people want good health, but continue practicing unhealthy lifestyle habits. How ironic life is.

Here are some ways you can practice the awareness of abundance in your lives.

1. Slow down.

The world is hectic, fast-paced, and full of rush. Yet, you still crave stillness. It's what you've forgotten amid the busyness of your lives. Stopping, slowing down, or even focusing on one thing at a time allows you to see things more clearly. From a point of contentment rather than striving, you can find joy.

2. Choose gratitude.

Happy moments are fleeting, and circumstances are always changing. You cannot achieve perfection by striving for it, but you can use gratitude to gain perspective. It empowers you because your response to situations is measured, rather than dictated to.

3. Water your own grass.

If you keep your attention on your own landscape instead of constantly looking at those around you, you'll see that your lack stems from distorted perceptions of one another's reality. You see others succeed and believe there isn't enough for everyone. But that's a lie. Everyone is fighting a hard battle—they all look different. When you reflect on the gifts you’ve been given, you’ll be able to see there is enough for you no matter what ails you.

4. Reframe your perspective.

When you are facing obstacles, limitations, and circumstances, it’s so easy to feel powerless and do nothing. When you recognize your deepest pain as gifts in disguise, you will then see your deepest gifts in place of obstacles, limitations, and resentments. You don’t have to have everything. Just enough is enough for who you need to be and what you need to do.

5. Say no to numbing.

It's okay to binge-watch Netflix or scroll through social media. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and unwind. Living on your own is hard, and some days just call for comfort. Yet too often you can fall into a pattern of numbing that does not serve you. The world needs you to do the hard thing — that thing that is begging for you to, just do it. So enjoy your life. When you notice yourself numbing, stop it. Feel your feelings – sit in them, wallow if you must, but don't live there. Life can be already hard enough, don’t make it even worse.

When you wake up, choose to believe that there is enough and that’s how you live a life in abundance.
